Judges in hot water
What's with the judges getting caught up in sexual misconduct allegations? Two are mentioned in the Houston Chronicle today.
- U.S. District Judge Samuel Kent is charged with abusing a former case manager in 2003 and 2007. The Chronicle reports that he plans to continue hearing cases while the matter is resolved.
- A Brazoria County judge, who has admitted to groping women, resigned on Friday.

Hospital exec resigns
An executive brought in to turn around the Harris County Hospital District has resigned after six months on the job, the Chronicle reports. According to the newspaper:
Phil Eubanks was hired a year after the cash-strapped district signed a $15 million settlement with the federal government for improperly billing Medicare and Medicaid.
Gustav keeps Perry home
Gov. Perry won't be in Minnesota this week at the GOP convention, the Dallas Morning News reports. He'll remain in Texas instead as Hurricane Gustav approaches the gulf coast.
