The waiting is the hardest part: Court may not have decision in Brimer-Davis case today

We're hearing that the 5th Court of Appeals in Dallas may not have a decision on state Sen. Kim Brimer's quest to disqualify challenger Wendy Davis today. Seriously.

It's always a bit ridiculous for reporters to suggest how the legal system should operate but ... come on. Shouldn't this be cleared up by now? The first challenge to Davis' candidacy came nine months ago. Here we are, less than five weeks from the election, and we don't know yet if one of the candidates in a Texas state Senate race beat a filing deadline?

We're going to check in with the clerk's office at four o'clock today, when the court will announce whether it has reached a decision. Stay tuned.
