The Brownsville Herald has the story, via the McAllen Monitor site:

Brownsville Mayor Pat M. Ahumada Jr. has been indicted by a Cameron County grand jury, his attorney John Blaylock said this morning.

"I look forward to going foward. An indictment is merely the first step toward clearing one's name," Blaylock said.

As for just what charge the mayor has been indicted on, that hasn't come out yet. I have been keeping up with the local papers' coverage in recent months of a controversy involving a $26,000 check intended for a city vendor that wound up being deposited in the mayor's bank account, but I'm not sure whether that has any relation to his indictment today.
