AUSTIN — A House committee on Monday passed through the latest version of a law to protect journalists from revealing confidential sources, setting the stage once again for a House vote.

The bill won 7-1 approval from the House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee. It marks the third straight session in which the Legislature has taken up the issue.
