CNN's investigative team has come out with a report about how the U.S. Postal Service -- you know, the folks who are about to jack up the cost of a stamp AGAIN -- has been in the habit of losing big bucks after buying up houses of employees who relocate. The story is pegged off a $1.2 million house the post office bought last year from the postmaster in Lexington, S.C., Ronald Hopson, who relocated to Texas. He's now customer service manager in Carrollton, near Dallas, CNN says.

Please correct your story. The USPS only purchases the homes of those in MANAGEMENT, not the employees. I know because I am being relocated. Trust me, the $150 I will get as an employee for misc. expenses (such as to cover the $250 electric deposit) is pitiful. Management gets 1 to 2 thousand. There are two policies. Please make the distinction because the average postal employee would not get a home purchased. The real question is how he could afford that home on his salary! |

Amy, Thanks for writing in and making that distinction. And welcome to our site. Take care, Jennifer P. jennifer@texaswatchdog.org |
