By Lee Ann O'Neal
The Houston Chronicle reports that Rep. Garnet Coleman, D-Houston, has been fined for errors in his campaign reporting, specifically "for failing to report $107,577 in political expenditures in 2006 and 2007, including $60,176 in credit card charges."

From the post:
(Coleman) said his filings were wrong so he tried to correct them. But the corrections also were wrong. So he filed another corrected report, which also was wrong. Coleman said each corrected report that was wrong counted as a new violation.

The lawmaker will pay a $9,500 penalty for the errors, the newspaper reports.

Do check out the full blog post all the way to the end. That's where you'll find the bit from  Coleman explaining his mother's role in the 2006-07 mishaps.

Sound like a cheap shot from Craddick and his cronies at Rep. Coleman, who is one of the best we've got.
