Texas Watchdog has been requesting and publishing here at www.texaswatchdog.org the personal financial disclosures for state and local officials. We've concentrated on state lawmakers but have recently added to the collection local officials in larger Texas cities and counties.

Austin has proven to be one of the friendlier towns in Texas when it comes to providing the personal financial disclosures. One phone call, 30 minutes in the office, 10 cents a page for copies - first 50 free. This stands in contrast to earlier experiences in a couple other Texas jurisdictions.

Posted below are Austin leaders' personal financial statements covering calendar year 2008 and filed in April. As always, if you see something on the forms that should be investigated further, or notice that information is missing that should have been reported, please contact us at news@texaswatchdog.org or 713-980-9777.
