We want say thanks to the nice folks at the Sunlight Foundation -- a nonpartisan nonprofit in DC working to help people get more information from Congress and the federal government -- for letting me guest blog today about transparency issues in Texas and the work we're doing here at Texas Watchdog. You can read my post on the Sunlight blog at this link.
If you're not familiar with Sunlight, check them out. You might have seen me refer to some of their work here on our blog, including their work on the SubsidyScope database, an online database of foreign lobbyists, and many others. They were also kind enough to invite me to a very cool program they hosted at George Washington University early this year called Transparency Camp, where open government- and computer-minded folks from across America discussed how to help people better connect with their governments via the Internet.
And remember, Texas Watchdog is constantly looking for ideas and tips from you about how government transparency can be improved in Texas. Got an idea or a comment? Post in the comments below or shoot me an e-mail at jennifer@texaswatchdog.org.
