Here is a database of Texas state senators' travel expenses from Jan. 1, 2008, to May 1, 2009.

The information is in two tables.

The first table includes all per diem payments made to senators during that time, including when senators were working at the Capitol and traveling on state business. Senators have the option of claiming these flat-rate daily stipends or turning in their actual hotel, meal and other travel bills.

The second table includes expenses such as mileage reimbursement, plane tickets, meals, and hotel bills.

UPDATE, 11/6/09: If you're using the data to figure totals, be aware that overnight per diem payments will appear in both databases, and these should only be counted once.
