Texas Watchdog has created interactive charts for both of the Houston mayoral candidates showing a sampling of their connections -- this one is for incumbent City Controller Annise Parker. By holding your mouse over the various icons on the chart, you can see some of Parker's family ties, property she and her family own, their business interests, some of the organizations and unions that have endorsed her in this election, some of her prominent backers and major campaign donors. Click here to see the chart for her competitor in the Dec. 12 election, Gene Locke.

Texas Watchdog created the charts for both candidates using their annual ethics forms, campaign finance reports, reports in the major Houston media and other public records. Footnotes for each chart offer specific citations.

Charles, Thank you for the compliment. We are open to doing similar charts for any city or government agency that might be of interest to our readers, so we're grateful for the suggestions. Take care, Jennifer P. jennifer@texaswatchdog.org

Joe, Thank you for taking the photo and for making it available to us though Creative Commons. (I'm afraid I haven't yet had a chance to message all the photographers and send them links -- that's on my to-do this.) I'll also get the link changed to your site. Take care, Jennifer P jennifer@texaswatchdog.org
