The U.S. Department of Justice intends to publish a comparison of how 92 federal agencies comply with the Freedom of Information Act.

According to the Web site Government Technology, the Justice Department is going to add to its Web site something it calls a FOIA Dashboard so the public can more easily navigate Freedom of Information data already on its Web site.

The plan has the backing of such open government groups as the Sunlight Foundation, AmericaSpeaks and the American Civil Liberties Union.

FOIA compliance comparisons from 2009 for 25 federal agencies are expected to be on the dashboard sometime in September. The Justice Department hopes to have 2010 data for all 92 agencies by March 2011.
