Gov. Rick Perry's hair isn't the only mane Tweeting on Texas politics.

The hair of Perry's Democratic challenger, former Houston Mayor Bill White, has its own Twitter account now, too: @BillWhitesHair.

The first Tweet went out this afternoon: "Elegantly coiffed. Dan Rather take note."

Perry's hair's supposed Twitter account -- @GovPerrysHair -- earned mentions in the statewide press. But, as of this writing, @GovPerrysHair has not Tweeted since last November, when it made reference to White's Democratic primary opponent: "All of this focus on haircare guru Farouk Shami 4 Gov has got me standing on end! ... I'm the hair with flair, Texans!"

Perry's famous full head of hair earned him the dirisive nickname "Governor Goodhair" from critics.  

On the other hand, White is, well, um -- no offense intended here, Mayor -- a bit follically challenged.

I reckon we'll have to see whose hair has more to say this election year.
