A publicly-owned utility has provided disputed financial information to the city of Bryan, Texas, but that information will be discussed in executive session and is not available to the public.

A story by the Bryan CBS affiliate KBTX reports that financial data requested by the city from the city-owned Bryan Texas Utilities was initially withheld by the utility.

Texas Watchdog reported on this issue in May, when both the city and local media affiliates were requesting the information, which reportedly includes salary, bonus and incentive figures

In June, a letter ruling from the state Attorney General’s office declared the utility was shielded by a provision of the government code pertaining to competitive matters, so the public was denied access.
