Truck severance from TWIA? Perhaps no big deal when Texas Windstorm Insurance Assoc. chief makes $300,000.

We wrote recently about how a top clams manager with the quasi-governmental Texas Windstorm Insurance Association received a six-figure severance package and a 2010 Ford pickup truck. Though the inclusion of a truck might raise eyebrows in some quarters, perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising at an agency whose chief makes more than $300,000.

The median salary for all state of Texas workers is $35,650, according to data compiled by the Texas Tribune.

Here are the top 10 salaries at TWIA, which were released to Texas Watchdog under a state Public Information Act request:

James W. (Jim) Oliver, general manager - $330,812
Gregory Sedlock, vice president, chief information officer - $163,596
Susan C. Renshaw, vice president, finance/accounting - $144,716
Randall L. Wipf, vice president, underwriting - $144,716
Louis F. Cusano, vice president, underwriting and agent services - $132,457
David Weber, general counsel - $125,400
Robert Boley, senior manager, project management office - $122,295
James C. Murphy, actuary - $121,191
Laura Pitts, senior development manager - $108,000
Russell P. Stout, senior claims manager - $97,976
