The controversy over private meetings and private e-mails between Austin City Councilmembers is the topic of this week's episode of Texas Watchdog's Transparency Talk podcast.

We'll be featuring an interview with Ken Martin, Austin journalist and editor of the nonprofit news site the Austin Bulldog, who has broken the stories on the city's attempts to subvert open government laws.

"What we have here is government in the shadows," Ken told me.

The Bulldog has sued the city to gain access to additional private communications regarding public business. And the county attorney in Travis County is now looking into whether criminal charges should be filed.
