More than 200 post offices across Texas are being considered for closure, including a handful in Houston, the U.S. Postal Service announced today.
As the Houston Press noted today, the list of post offices on the chopping block is “hilariously labeled” -- wait for it -- “Expanded Access.”
Here’s a map we’ve made showing all the 222 Texas facilities on the list. Journalists and bloggers: Feel free to embed this map in your own website. Go to this link and hit the “share” button to generate the embed code.

Photo: U.S. Post Office in Mineral Wells, Texas. Just to be clear, Mineral Wells' post office is NOT on the list slated for closure -- but it is a lovely old post office building, don't you think? Photo by flickr user mtsrs, used under a Creative Commons license.
