
Texas Watchdog is proud of deputy editor Jennifer Peebles, who is the new president of the Houston Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
Jennifer has been serving as the chairman of SPJ's national committee on digital media. She is also former president of SPJ's Middle Tennessee Pro Chapter.
Jennifer has been with Texas Watchdog since September of 2008 and since moving to Houston has been a journalism dynamo in the Lone Star State. She was the 2009 winner of the John Aubuchon Freedom of Information Award from Capitolbeat and the 2009 winner of the Open Doors Award given by the Fort Worth Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She also won honors in 2010 from Fort Worth’s SPJ chapter for best online project.
