Miller’s true crime thriller, published by Penguin last June, was nominated in the “Best Fact Crime” category. The Edgar awards are organized by the Mystery Writers of America, based in New York.
At Texas Watchdog, Miller has investigated money in politics at the local and state levels, vetted the promises made by government, and helped a Houston man cut through the red tape to get his city water bill reduced from $2,500 to $3.74. He’s also probed the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, voter fraud in South Texas, and the tangled spinoffs of the Houston Airport System.
