Using existing state-compiled data, the Pasadena Citizen fashions a report card of its local school districts in a story that breaks down average teacher and administrator salaries, teacher experience levels, student-to-teacher ratios and test scores.
Among the fun facts: Pearland ISD pays its teachers an average of $48,781, last among those local districts checked. But it pays an average administrative salary of $100,024 annually, tops among those reviewed. Pearland also has the largest student-to-teacher ratio at 16.8 to 1.
The story also provides a link to the Texas Education Agency database site, where the curious can compile their own databases and sets of facts, based on state numbers.
