A Dallas public schools administrator could be fired for spending about $60,000 of taxpayer money on unauthorized trips for staff and students.

But it doesn’t look likely, as WFAA-TV reports there’s no indication Shirley Ison-Newsome has been disciplined at all for using $1,500 of public funding to pay for a bowling outing in August for staff from a Dallas Independent School District school.

That was two months after the district banned off-campus work meetings due to budget constraints.

A March DISD report concluded that Ison-Newsome’s actions are “grounds for termination,” according to WFAA-TV. That report also quoted Ison-Newsome saying that she was the chief of schools and that "there are bigger problems to worry about than this."

The new controversy adds to the imbroglio already consuming Ison-Newsome for her decision to take 5,700 fifth-grade boys to see the movie “Red Tails” at a cost of about $57,000 in February.

By excluding girls, Ison-Newsome violated federal civil-rights policies, the Dallas Morning News reported. DISD officials agreed with U.S. Department of Education officials to offer gender-equality training.

"...could be fired..."? How about SHOULD be fired! I am sick and tired of public employees WASTING tax dollars for frivolous expenditures. This behavior must stop!
